It is with a heavy heart that I offer this statement on the passing of Mr. Cleovis Whiteside, a cherished member of our community. His presence, wisdom, and remarkable legacy have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

I am deeply honored to have celebrated alongside Mr. Whiteside, his beloved wife Arwilda, and their community, marking the extraordinary milestone of their union-the oldest in the State of Arkansas, established on July 24, 1939. Their enduring bond has been a beacon of love and commitment, inspiring generations.

The Whitesides have long been revered by our community and esteemed by past governors, embodying the essence of devotion and partnership. When envisioning the epitome of a harmonious marriage, one needs to look no further than Mr. and Mrs. Whiteside.

Mr. Whiteside epitomized the quintessential roles of a father, husband, mentor, and beyond. His legacy of compassion, integrity, and guidance will continue to resonate within our hearts for years to come. He will be profoundly missed, leaving a void that can never be filled.

As we mourn the loss of a remarkable individual, our thoughts and prayers are extended to Mrs. Arwilda Whiteside and the entire family. May they find solace in cherished memories and the enduring love that surrounds them during this difficult time.

Sincerely,
