JEFFERSON CO. SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATING SUSPICIOUS DEATH OF AN ELDERLY MAN: Jefferson County, Arkansas - June 17, 2014-The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a man's death after his body was found in the 8200 block of Highway 79 South in Jefferson County.

A preliminary investigation points to suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

The body has been identified as that of Esbend Fred Sheridan (84).

The 9-1-1 call was received at 11:52 a.m. after a Waste Management Employee made the discovery.

Sheridan's body will be sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
