SHERIFF'S COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SHOWS SUPPORT BY GOING PINK: Jefferson County, Arkansas – Thursday, October 1, 2015 – When pink comes to mind, you don’t think of law enforcement. However, we’ve instructed our deputies to issue all citations to include warning citations in pink ink for the entire month of October in observance and support of Breath Cancer Awareness Month. Additionally, our female deputies have been provided pink handcuffs in lieu of the traditional stainless steel department issued handcuffs.
“The Sheriff’s Office wants to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s something when you realize that typically there exists no more than one degree of separation between someone you know who has or has had breast cancer. So many in our communities and within the sheriff's office family have been personally touched by breast cancer in some way, which is why we found it appropriate to bring forth the idea of support through the "Stroking For The Cure” campaign.
