W.C. "Dub" Brassell Adult Detention Center Staff Respond to Medical Emergency; Investigation Ongoing

 

At approximately 1606 hours on April 27, 2026 W.C. "Dub" Brassell Adult Detention Center (DBDC) staff responded to, Detainee Eddie Williams, experiencing a medical emergency while in custody. Personnel rendered aid, including lifesaving first aid measures, and emergency medical services were activated without delay. The detainee was subsequently transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center (JRMC) for further evaluation and treatment.

 

Williams was pronounced deceased at JRMC at 1653 hours. The cause of death is unknown at this time, and an autopsy will be conducted at the Arkansas State Crime Lab. There are no signs of foul play.The incident is currently under investigation and further information will be released as soon as possible.
