DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN JEFFERSON COUNTY, ARKANSAS LEAVES ONE BROTHER DEAD AND ANOTHER BEHIND BARS: Jefferson County, Arkansas – April 21, 2012 – During the early morning hours of April 21, 2012, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched by the Jefferson County Radio Operator of Metropolitan Emergency Communications Association (MECA) to 10806 Highway 15 North in Tucker, Arkansas in reference to a domestic call.  Deputies arrived shortly after and found twenty-two (22) year old Nicholas Reed inside his home.  Nicholas Reed appeared to have succumbed to his death from a single gunshot wound to his chest inflected by his twenty-one (21) year old brother, Ryan REED.

Sources of information revealed to investigators that the two brothers had engaged in a physical altercation inside their home that ultimately lead to one of the brothers, Ryan REED retrieving a firearm and fatally shooting his brother, Nicholas Reed.

Ryan REED was taken into custody by investigators and transported to the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center, where he was booked in and held for 1st Degree Murder.  This investigation will continue.
