CONVICTED ALTHEIMER SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH FAILING TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER: Jefferson County, Arkansas – April 24, 2015-Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigators executed an arrest warrant at the residence of convicted sex offender, Roy Lee Thomas in Altheimer, AR this morning.

 

Thomas, 67, was charged with failing to register as a sex offender following an internal audit of a database utilized by Criminal Investigators to verify the home addresses of convicted sex offenders in Jefferson County, AR.  The internal audit by Criminal Investigators revealed that Thomas had not registered in the last eleven years and was not compliant with the order of the court.

 

Thomas was ordered to register as a Level 3 Sex Offender following a December 5, 2000 conviction for a violation of Arkansas Criminal Code Annotated A.C.A. § 5-14-110. Sexual Solicitation of a Child, an offense that occurred on November 30, 1999 against a 10-year-old female victim.  Thomas was also ordered to complete 120 hours of community service, a 72 month probationary period and fines totaling $6,540.00.

 

Thomas is currently being held at the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center on a $10,000.00 secure bond.  If bond is posted, Thomas will be ordered to appear before the Honorable Berlin Jones, Jefferson County Circuit Court, First Division on June 1, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.
