SHERIFF OFFERS CONDOLENCES FOR HOT SPRINGS POLICE OFFICER

HSPD-Officer (002).jpg

I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of Officer 1st Class Brent Scrimshire, an eight-year veteran of the Hot Springs Police Department.

Scrimshire, 33, was killed in the line-of-duty Tuesday night during a traffic stop on Kenwood Street in Hot Springs.

Receiving the news of a fellow public servant losing his life in the line-of-duty is always devastating. There are no words that are adequate to express your sympathy.

He was doing his job, making the ultimate sacrifice to serve and protect the people of Hot Springs, while displaying his courage and dedication.

Scrimshire was awarded the Regional Officer of the Year Award by Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge in 2016. Most recently, he was selected as HSPD's officer of the quarter.

My most sincere thoughts and prayers are with the family of Officer Brent Scrimshire and the Hot Springs Police Department during this tragic and difficult time.

Sincerely,
