Giving Thanks
Dear Sheriff's Office Family, Friends, and Citizens,
On tomorrow most of you will gather around your Thanksgiving Day table as we did on yesterday as an agency heavily rooted in the spirit of celebrating the tradition of Thanksgiving. Although Thanksgiving is traditionally celebrated once a year, we as a people have so much to be thankful for. We should be thankful every day for the many blessings that have been bestowed upon us. The greatest joy is healthy life, prosperity a...nd the freedoms we share as a world, country, state, county, and city.
We the members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office join with friends and family, neighbors and even strangers to say two simple words -- thank you.
As a veteran myself, I’m reminded as you should be to give special thoughts and prayers to our men and women of the Armed Forces serving overseas and in places of conflict as well as the men and women in public safety. As we gather around the Thanksgiving table, we hope you will join us in praying for them.
In addition, I will pray and give thanks to each and every one of you for what you do - day in and day out for me, the Office, and our community.
