Statement from the Sheriff
July 17, 2025, Jefferson County, AR - It is with profound sorrow that I share the news of the passing of a dear mentor and retired public servant, Judge Robert "Bob" Alexander Tolson Jr., who departed this life on July 16, 2025. His mentorship spanned over 27 years, during which I had the privilege of witnessing his unwavering dedication to justice, community, and the principles that uphold our society.
Judge Tolson was a beacon of integrity and fairness in Pine Bluff (Jefferson County) and beyond. His tenure as a municipal judge was marked by a commitment to equitable jurisprudence and a deep understanding of the human condition. He approached each case with a balanced perspective, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their background were treated with dignity and respect.
Beyond the courtroom, Judge Tolson was a steadfast advocate for the community. He believed in the power of service and worked tirelessly to uplift those around him. His legacy is not only etched in the legal decisions he rendered but also in the countless lives he touched through his mentorship, guidance, and unwavering support.
As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the life of a man who exemplified what it means to be a true public servant. Judge Tolson's contributions have left an indelible mark on our community, and his spirit will continue to inspire us all.
On behalf of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fellow law enforcement officers who had the honor of knowing him. May we find comfort in the knowledge that his legacy of justice, compassion, and service will endure.
Rest in peace, Judge Tolson. Your work here is done, but your impact will resonate for generations to come.
Sincerely,
Sincerely,
