Prayers for Hurricane Harvey Victims

To the victims and survivors,

We were sadden to hear about the destruction of Hurricane Harvey. When a natural disaster like "Hurricane Harvey" destroys nearly everything in its path, the first question for many people is why. This act of mother nature has claimed the lives of some but brought others together.

Although we recognize that there's nothing one can say during such a terrible time, on behalf of the men and women of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, I want the survivors and the families of victims to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

As we have in the past, our agency will be reaching out to emergency management personnel and our fellow law enforcement partners in the affected areas to identify any need for assistance with cleanup, reconstruction, and relocation of those displaced.
