SHERIFF ISSUES STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF CENTRAL ALETA TRAINING SUPERVISOR BERNIE MOSLEY

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Bernie Mosley, a supervisor at the Central Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA).  

Bernie Mosley, 49, of Hot Springs, passed away Nov. 8, 2019. 

Throughout the course of his career, Bernie earned the admiration of his peers, student officers, and the citizens he protected and served for his acumen and dedication to duty.

Bernie was deeply devoted to his family and was proud of their accomplishments; he always endeavored to remain true to family values of the highest order.

Bernie was a dedicated public servant, who performed his duties in a manner that brought honor and distinction to the Central ALETA and the entire law enforcement profession.

Bernie began his career at the Malvern Police Department which allowed him to gain experience in many different law enforcement areas, including commanding the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and the Special Response Team. In 2011, Bernie accepted an Instructor position at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy. He spent most of his time teaching at the Camden campus, but also traveled around the state teaching specialized courses. In 2017, Bernie became the Training Supervisor for the newly created Central ALETA, at Camp Joseph T. Robinson. He held an Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice from the National Park Community College. He was a graduate of the 45th Management College at the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration in Plano, Texas. He was also a graduate of the School of Law Enforcement Supervision at the U of A Criminal Justice Institute, held a Force Science Certification, and was a graduate of ALETA Class 97-D.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 13th at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home located at 155 Section Line Rd, Hot Springs. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 14th at Trinity Church located at 670 Panama Street. There will be a procession to Crestview Memorial Park located at 3077 E. Grand Service Rd. for graveside services.

Bernie will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mosley Family as well as ALETA.
