SULPHUR SPRINGS NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH GROUP DONATES FANS TO JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE ANNUAL FAN DRIVE: Jefferson County, Arkansas – August 5, 2016-In response to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office call for fans to help keep its seniors keep cool during the summer as part of its Annual Fan Drive, Harold Rhodes, John Varnell, Sr., and son, John Varnell, Jr. donated several fans as members of the Sulphur Springs Neighborhood Watch Group.
“In the wake of such hot and humid weather, fans can make a big difference and also serve as a source to significantly cut energy bills in the summer. We realize that many of our seniors don’t have adequate cooling systems in their homes and many other are on a fixed income. Those who do have cooling systems can also find some benefit in utilizing fans as an alternate cooling source and adjusting their thermostats to a recommended 78 degrees to keep the electric bills manageable. Using less energy can help them lower their electric bill, leaving them with money for other essentials."
"Through the support of groups like the Sulphur Springs Neighborhood Watch Group lead by community leaders like Mr. Varnell and Mr. Rhodes, we will be more than able to reach our fan donation goal this year. This support allows us to donate more fans to seniors in need.”
