BODY RECENTLY DISCOVERED INSIDE JEFFERSON COUNTY HOME HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED: Jefferson County, AR - June 15, 2019 – The body of a man recently found in a Jefferson County home has been identified as a 60 year-old, white male named Chris Bertucci.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Civil and Warrants Division had gone out to an address located on Edwards Street to serve a 24-hour rent eviction notice to an unidentified man on June 13, 2019. Upon serving the notice, the man stated that there would not be a problem with him leaving the property when they returned the next day.

On June 14, 2019, the Civil and Warrants Division along with the Criminal Investigation Division returned to the property around 9 a.m., finding the man in the home alone, lying lifeless on the living room floor with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to his chest. Due to the smell of gas, investigators immediately exited the property notifying the local fire department and the gas company CenterPoint Energy, who disconnected the gas and electricity in the home. Investigators recovered a long gun.

The body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.
