K9 OFFICER HELPS INVESTIGATOR FIND DRUGS DURING TRAFFIC STOP: January 17, 2020 - JEFFERSON COUNTY, AR - A traffic stop led to an arrest and the seizure of drugs, thanks to Jefferson County K9 Soder.

Investigator Cody Musselwhite stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Thursday, January 16th at the intersection of Highway 79 N and Highway 31 N. During the stop, K9 Sergeant Soder alerted the investigator to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.

In a search, Investigator Musselwhite, K9 Sergeant Courtney Kelly, K9 Soder discovered a plastic bag containing four individually packaged bags of clear, crystal-like substance in the access to the gas cap of the vehicle. The clear, crystal-like substance field tested positive for methamphetamine at an approximate weight of 40 grams.

The crystal-like substance will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for drug analysis.

The suspect is charged with possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
