UPDATE:  JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE ARRESTS HOMICIDE SUSPECT:  Jefferson County, Arkansas - December 22, 2021 - On December 19, 2021, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) was called to the scene of a homicide in the area of Wilbur West Road near Bayou Bartholomew.  The deceased victim was identified as Laquavis Thomas, 20 years-of-age.  Thomas was found to have suffered from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Tri-County Drug Task Force Investigators developed information that Daelon Reshuan Baker (19 years-of-age) was involved in the homicide.  They were able to locate Baker and arrested him on unrelated charges on Monday, December 20, 2021.  After further investigation, on Tuesday, December 22, 2021, District Judge Kimberly Bridgforth found probable cause to hold Baker in jail without bond for Capital Murder and possession of a defaced firearm.
