JUVENILE ARRESTED FOR THREATS MADE TO CLASSMATE:  Jefferson County, Arkansas - January 31, 2022 - A 14-year-old student of Watson Chapel Junior High School has been arrested today on charges of Terroristic Threatening following an investigation into a threat of a shooting fellow classmate(s).

The threat was made over the weekend through a video posted to social media and was directed towards unnamed Watson Chapel student(s).  The 14-year-old female juvenile brandished a firearm in the video on social media and was not on school grounds when the incident occurred.

"Incidents of juveniles turning to violence rather than seeking alternative means of conflict resolution are far too frequent in our community.  Threats, bullying, and gun violence will always have a zero-tolerance in our schools.  Our youth must learn that there's a better choice of how to respond when they disagree with one another.  Parents and guardians must be more involved and engaged in their children's daily lives now, more than ever.  There is an urgent parental responsibility to know where your children are and what they are involved in every single day and night - all day and all night.", said Sheriff Lafayette Woods, Jr.
