At approximately 11:51 a.m., a suspicious package containing an off-white substance that field-tested positive for cocaine was intercepted. Subsequently, a controlled reverse delivery was conducted, leading to the arrest of at least one suspect. The suspect is currently in custody, pending the formal filing of charges for possession of a controlled substance with the purpose to deliver.

He stated, "This successful seizure of one kilo of cocaine highlights the power of collaboration and the unwavering dedication of the law enforcement agencies involved. We are committed to investigating, disrupting, and dismantling drug traffickers who operate within our jurisdiction."

Possession of a controlled substance with the purpose to deliver is classified as a Class Y Felony under Arkansas law. If convicted, the suspect faces a minimum sentence of ten (10) years and a maximum of forty (40) years, or life imprisonment.

Sheriff Lafayette Woods, Jr. emphasized the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office's ongoing commitment to combating drug-related crimes through the investigative efforts of Tri-County Drug Task Force lead by Captain Yohance Brunson.
