Jefferson County, Arkansas - February 18, 2026 - Today, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office proudly presented Letters of Commendation to several members of our agency in recognition of their outstanding service during a drowning incident response on October 15, 2025, which occurred at the Arkansas River.

On October 15, deputies responded to a report of a missing fisherman believed to have drowned. The situation required immediate coordination, specialized response efforts, and steady leadership under emotionally difficult circumstances. Serving as the on-scene Incident Commander, Chief Deputy Hudson oversaw the operation as these dedicated members carried out the response with professionalism and careful precision throughout the response.

Through teamwork, persistence, and a strong commitment to duty, the team successfully located the victim, providing much-needed answers and closure to the family and to our community. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and unwavering focus during a challenging operation exemplify the highest standards of law enforcement service.
