JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF GERALD ROBINSON TAKES PART IN ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE: Jefferson County, Arkansas - August 20, 2014-Today Sheriff Gerald Robinson with the assistance of Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Major Lafayette Woods, Jr. completed the Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ALS "Ice Bucket" challenge to raise awareness and support for the debilitating disease.  ALS is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.


The challenge has raised over 10 million dollars across the country to help the over 6,000 people annually that are diagnosed with ALS.

Commander Waller challenged his former roommate from the FBI National Academy, Kelly Leben, Commander Alan Moros, and Major Andy Walters who then joined the challenge with us. Major Walters issued a challenge to his brother Phillip Walters, Cheryl Sink, and Chris FerranAs part of the awareness campaign, Sheriff Robinson issued a personal "Ice Bucket" challenge to all of his command level staff and Sheriffs across the State of Arkansas.
